Data deletion instructions

Last updated:

How to remove the Canoy Admin App from your Facebook account and have Canoy delete the data it received from Meta. Our privacy policy explains what that data is and how we use it.

1.Remove the app from Facebook

This stops the app receiving any more data from your account straight away:

  • On Facebook, open Settings & privacy, then Settings.
  • Go to Business integrations (on some accounts it's under Apps and websites).
  • Find the Canoy Admin App, select it and choose Remove.

If you connected through a business portfolio, an admin can also remove it in Meta Business Suite under Settings, then Integrations, then Connected apps. Menu names can change slightly as Meta updates its settings.

2.Ask us to delete your data

Email hello@canoyhq.com with the subject Data deletion request. Include your name and the Facebook account, business portfolio or ad account you connected, so we can find your data.

We'll confirm we've received your request within 5 working days, and delete the data we received from Meta, including our access tokens, within 30 days. We'll email you when it's done. If we can't verify that the request comes from the account owner, we'll ask for more information first.

3.What gets deleted and what stays

  • Deleted: your name and Facebook user ID, the list of business assets you shared, the campaign, ad and performance data we stored from Meta, and the app's access tokens.
  • Not affected: your ads, campaigns, Pages and accounts on Meta. They stay in your Meta accounts, where you control them in Ads Manager.
  • Kept where the law requires it: contracts and invoices, which hold no data from Meta, for six years.
